The exchequer of energy

Money. It’s simply a form of energy. Use it wisely to fuel your future and live to your full potential. Otherwise its only paper.

Take action. Take action. Whatever you’ve been thinking about, nothing matters unless you take action.

Imagine this. You are one hundred and ten years old. A time machine has just been invented, probably by Apple. The inventor tells you that you will be transported back in time. When you arrive you realise that it is today.
You with the wisdom of having lived and experienced life have the opportunity to speak to your younger self. You have just 60 seconds.
What do you say? What advice do you give yourself?

Rejoice in the new you. Human cells are constantly being renewed and those which constitute our persona today are quite different from those of ten years ago. So the cells in our body are a great deal younger than we are. So although we think we are the same person, it could be just an illusion that we’ve become attached to through habit.

At the PSFK conference in London yesterday, Dan Germain the Head of Creative at Innocent, said “The more stuff you do, the more stories you have”. Innocent is a business with a personality. It builds and tells great stories.
When you create great stories about what you are about, people want to ‘stick’ to them. The more stories that you create, the more people stick. It’s like rolling out a sticky ball. At first its hard, but as more people stick, the momentum grows and your story grows with it.
Whether you are thinking about your business or your life, do stuff, because stuff creates stories and stories create momentum.

Is your mind full or are you mindful? In an age where the currency of the wine bar seems to be the size of your decibel count, take a moment today to be mindful rather than having your mind full…..listen to the sound of silence.

According to a Guardian supplement on Time here are four ways to incorporate the bigger picture into the small aspects of our everyday lives….
1. Take your time: We tend to favour quick results, but what might we achieve if we decide to dedicate years, rather than months to something? What project can you start that will sustain your interest for a lifetime?
2. Expand your notions of success: Don’t limit yourself to the ideas of success held by your family or culture.
3. Contemplate death: If you knew you only had 12 months to live what would you do? What’s stopping you doing it now?
4. Build a legacy now: Why are you waiting? What legacy do you want to start creating now?

Oxymorons are everywhere. They are those metaphors which make contradictory analogies. Extra virgin; jumbo shrimp; pretty ugly; paper tigers; good grief; and there are even genuine imitations and plastic glasses.
What’s your favourite oxymoron?

If you’ve ever wondered why Andy Warhol was so successful, this quote of his helps shed some light on it. He tried things and ended up getting away with quite a lot.
See what you can get away with today.

Thirty spokes meet in the hub,
But the empty space between them is the essence of the wheel.
Pots are formed from clay,
But the empty space within it is the essence of the pot.
Wall with windows and doors form the house,
But the empty space within it is the essence of the home.
