You’re younger than you think

Rejoice in the new you. Human cells are constantly being renewed and those which constitute our persona today are quite different from those of ten years ago. So the cells in our body are a great deal younger than we are. So although we think we are the same person, it could be just an illusion that we’ve become attached to through habit.

Every September in the Italian town of Marostica, the inhabitants play a game of living chess in the town’s checkerboard square. The tradition dates back to 1454, when this method was used to decide which of two young noblemen should have the hand of the daughter of the local notable. Not every chess piece is a person; some are police horses.

Sounds more fun than internet dating.
